SIX MONTHS COURSE ON CINEMATOGRAPHY

Academic Term for the 12th Batch :( February 2012 -August 2012).

To apply for the course, the concerned candidate should possess an undergraduate degree either in the science or the arts. However, +2 students with three years experience in Photography / Film Industry may also apply.

Elements of Film Direction, Screenplay and Editing

Film Production & Teamwork

Other activities during the course:

40 nos. of selected feature films will be screened and discussed.

About 40 nos. of practical sessions which involve lighting practice and operation of video and movie cameras will be conducted.

Projects works involve Story telling using still visuals, Story telling using video visuals and guided short film production using 35mm Motion Picture Camera and movie film

Field visits include visits to film shooting spots, motion picture laboratory and digital intermediate lab

APPLICATION GUIDE FOR CINEMATOGRAPHY


  • Application form can be downloaded from our website. Completed application form along with DD for Rs.2,000/- drawn in favour of Mindscreen Film Institute, payable at Chennai, to be submitted or couriered to Mindscreen Film Institute on or before 30th november 2011.
  • Proof of academic credentials (photocopies) and work experience to be enclosed. Originals to be presented at the personal interview stage.
  • A statement of purpose with the application form - a short essay of 200 words indicating reasons for interest in the course & career in Cinematography to be enclosed.
  • Shortlisted applicants will be called for a personal interview & final selection stage. Interviews will be held by 2nd week of December 2011 .

COURSE FEE, TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Upon selection, the concerned candidate is expected to pay a sum of Rs.2, 15,000 (Rupees Two Lakh Fifteen Thousand only) + service tax as applicable towards course fee and a caution deposit of Rs. 20,000 (Rupees Twenty Thousand only -REFUNDABLE) within a week after the receipt of the admission card. Any delay in this matter would result in the seat being allotted to the next candidate on the waiting list.

  • Beyond this, whatever additional expenses may occur in order to finish project works such as continuity exercise and assignments, scene exercise and thesis film in terms of locations, actors, etc are to be borne by the candidate.

  • In case, the concerned candidate wishes to shoot the final project on film negative instead of video, all costs incurred towards the purchase of raw stock, processing, printing or conversion to digital format for non-linear editing by way of telecine etc, should be borne by him or her.

  • All outstation candidates would have to find their own accommodation as Mindscreen Film Institute is not a residential institution.

  • Upon the successful completion of class works, exercises, projects and mid term and final examinations with adequate attendance record, the candidate would be formally awarded an Associate Cinematographer Certificate.
