Lata Murugan
Film Instructor
Lata Murugan studied video Production from Michigan State University and Film Production at Loyola Marymount University. She is a passionate seasoned film and video trainer with practical hands-on knowledge on documentary and film-making, with teaching experience across countries like India, Zambia, Zimbabwe and US. For six years, Lata lived and worked extensively in Southern Africa making documentaries and social drama for international organizations (such as UNIFEM, UNESCO, etc.)
Her varied teaching experiences include, developing the curriculum and conducting several training courses in video production for the UNESCO Zimbabwe, Film and Video Training project. Since 2010, she has taught script development for feature including research techniques for character development and different elements of scripting at Mindscreen Film Institute helping students through all aspects of producing socially relevant documentaries.
Passionate about helping students find new characters and develop unique story lines around them.
